How to Print Express Name Cards and Offset Printing in Just a Few Simple Steps!

We hear more and more often about offset printing, but only some are clear on what it is and how it works. Offset printing Company in Singapore makes a short explanation, leaving the specific technical procedures to those responsible for framing offset printing and understanding how it works.

What is offset printing?

To clarify the technical term, offset printing is an indirect planography process. This process bases its operation on a liquid repulsion technique, i.e. water and substances, such as inks and oil. High resolution and definition are the main features that can be achieved through offset printing, thanks to the repulsion principle.

Offset printing is indirect because, compared to other direct printing techniques, the ink is transferred directly from the matrix (the aluminum plate) to the support; here, the ink is transferred from the lithographic plate onto the rubber and subsequently onto the paper. Using rubber in offset printing increases the print quality on any paper, even non-smooth ones.

How to offset printing works

Offset printing is based on the principle of repulsion between liquids, such as water, oil, and inks. It is called indirect because, unlike other printing techniques in which the ink passes directly from the aluminum plate to the paper, the ink is transferred from the lithographic plate onto the rubber and from there to the paper.

The offset printing quality is excellent, thanks to the rubber, even on non-smooth papers.

But how does the actual process work? As previously mentioned, printing takes place thanks to three cylinders:

The first cylinder, which carries the wrapped plate, is wetted by the humidifier and inking rollers.

The second roller, on which the rubber is present, is brought into contact with the first and receives the print, which it subsequently transfers onto the sheet, thanks to the pressure exerted by the third roller.

A process that allows you to obtain very high-quality prints with exceptional color definition.
